The League of Incredible Vegetables (also known as The League of the Incredible Vegetables and the Flurry of Fear) is the forty-fourth episode of VeggieTales and the fourth Larry-Boy episode.

Plot

Opening Countertop

Bob and Larry greet the viewers. Then a voice is heard asking the two if they have a moment. It is Alfred. Larry greets him. Alfred greets him and Bob. Alfred then tells him that he received a distressing message from Sean Smith of Youngstown, Ohio. Sean says that he is a afraid of thunderstorms, bugs, dogs and snakes. He wants to know what he should do if he feels afraid. Larry then proceeds to get his bag (which has his LarryBoy suit in it) to transform into LarryBoy. Larry said that he needs a phone booth. But bob says that there are no phone booths anymore and says that he can change behind his cell phone. Larry then wonders how is he supposed to change into LarryBoy now. Bob tells him he can try his dressing room. Larry then heads to his dressing room. Alfred then tells Bob that Larry needs some help and that it was a job too big for LarryBoy alone. He then tells Bob to check his dressing room and Bob proceeds to do so. Alfred then tells the viewers and Sean that he is presenting a story called, "The League of the Incredible Vegetables and the Flurry of Fear."

Closing Countertop

Bob and Larry, who are now LarryBoy and Thingamabob, appear on the countertop. Bob says that he feels super and Larry tells him that he looks super. Then Bob asks Larry if they wanna wrestle but LarryBoy doesn't wanna wrestle. He tackles him as Alfred asks what's going on. Alfred then tells him that Bob has SHS (superhero syndrome) and that it can be quite energizing playing a superhero for the first time. Larry then mentions that he won the dance-a-thon after LarryBoy and the Fib from outer space. Bob says that dancing can be fun and then dances himself. Larry then says that it's time to talk about what we have learned today. They dance along to the song and then Thingamabob mentions how he loves that song. They dance again during the second half. Then QWERTY brings up the verse

When am afraid I put my trust in you

Psalm 56:3

Then Bob tells Sean that whenever he feels afraid that he can put his trust in god. Larry then says that when he realizes that God is bigger than anyone, it'll help you to not feel scared. Alfred then tells LarryBoy and Thingamabob a well done and that it was a such an important lesson to learn. Bob, Larry and Alfred then say goodbye to the viewers and then Bob says he is going jogging as the show ends.

  • This episode was released in 2012, the same year as another superhero team-up movie - Marvel Studios' The Avengers.
  • The Fear-Dar is also known as the Refrigerator, as seen in the newspaper.
  • While Alfred's biggest fear was not revealed/scanned in this episode, it was said on the VeggieTales website that his biggest fear was power outages, which was a reference to Larry-Boy and the Fib from Outer Space where he accidentally unplugged his computer.
  • This is the second episode to have a lesson in handling fear, the first being Where's God When I'm S-Scared?.
  • In the stored cages at the LarryCave, we can see the following items:
    • A replica of the Larry-Boy suit.
    • A key.
    • The Art Bigotti plate.
  • This is the first episode for several things:
    • The first and only Larry-Boy episode to have a Silly Song.
    • The first Larry-Boy episode where Bob gets a major role (excluding Larry-Boy: The Cartoon Adventures).

Remarks

  • Apparently, Larry-Boy is scared of balloons popping because lots of them popped during his fifth birthday party.
  • Throughout the episode, the cable on Larry-Boy's plungers switches from the nylon cable texture to the basic yellow rope.
  • Despite Mayor Blueberry stating previously that signals cannot be seen in daylight, the League's signal can be seen perfectly in daylight.
  • Even though snow is technically frozen water, Junior's super suit never shorts out from snow the same way it does from liquid water.
  • When the Fear-Dar scrolls through biggest fears, one of the biggest fears is called Escargo, though it is unknown what it is.
  • Somehow, Jimmy doesn't leave a mess after he ate the chocolate cake up in the air.
  • Although the shopping list mentions a "mustache comb," it was never seen nor used.
  • On the newspaper shot, the same newspaper "Local Boy Helps League Save The Day!" is shown twice in the background.
  • Vogue says she can't wear white as it's after Labor Day. However, such a day is in early September, even though the episode takes place during winter. Although climate change does affect weather, it's highly unlikely it would cause it to snow during Labor Day..
  • Because being a superhero is dangerous, Junior's parents likely would not be okay with him joining the League until he's older.

Goofs

  • One shot shows Qwerty's shadows missing.
  • One LarryCave shot has shadows missing.
  • LarryBoy's tooth is missing in two shots, when he says "Bad fifth birthday party, lots of popping" and when Dr. Flurry says "A lot of good your supersuits are now League"
  • When Junior was sitting with his suit off, the first two shots had missing shadows, and on the third shot, the shadow was back.
  • The live Qwerty introduction had one shadow disappear.
